TasGas

One giant leap forward for TasGas Networks

TasGas Networks has constructed over 700km of gas mains infrastructure throughout the state of Tasmania. Several thousand domestic, commercial and industrial users are connected to this natural gas network. TasGas Networks has also been involved with the management of the Tasmanian Gas Pipeline assets.

The need to record and share the location of all these assets internally and with key stakeholders, along with providing accurate, easy to access data, is an essential requirement for the business.

The challenge to bring different datasets together into one central database and create an intuitive interface that is easy to use for any user was presented.

X-Info Maps was chosen as the principle delivery platform and a phased approach was implemented.

TasGas Networks now have all of their data, for all of their assets, in a single database. Staff across the state are able to access this critical information via the web. The use of X-Info Maps has helped TasGas Networks save costs, increase productivity, improve customer service and stakeholder relations and most importantly safety.
